The Design Team
Head of Architectural Design Arch (Hons) UNSW
After completing a degree in Architecture, Michael worked for some time in a large scale architectural office which focussed on medium density residential architecture. He realised, however, that his real interest in architecture stemmed from a more personal connection with space.
With that in mind he accepted a position in a boutique Architectural and Interior Design office, specialising in high-end residential design. There he developed a greater understanding of the importance of internal spatial design working in conjunction with the architecture. Working from the inside out is crucial to the process.
After nine years in that position he began his own Design Studio, again specialising in residential design. As a sole practitioner, he was able to hone his passion for spatial design and enjoy closer relationships with clients. Michael sees the design process as one that involves listening to and interpreting personal briefs. The challenge then is to translate that into planning and spaces that work simply and efficiently, but which also expresses the character of person and place.

Jennifer is an experienced interior designer, and believes the best designs are those which cater for how people genuinely live and interact. She guides Cadence & Co’s clients through each design phase, and produces beautifully balanced, unique spaces to suit each client’s tastes and lifestyle. Jennifer’s keen eye for colour and design stems from her background in retail marketing for international fashion houses.
This experience gave her an in-depth understanding of spatial planning, lighting design, visual merchandising and retail store concept design. Jennifer also ran her own interior design studio in Sydney, and worked across both residential and commercial projects, before joining the team at Cadence & Co. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her exploring nature trails on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, or by the ocean collecting seashells with her two young daughters.
