Our Team and Clients at Sydney Contemporary: Exploring Australasia’s Premier Contemporary Art Fair

One of the most meaningful elements that brings our homes to life is art. For us, art is a storyteller—it brings character and joy, holds history, evokes memory, and reminds us of the importance of ongoing creative expression. Through the vision of artists, we discover reflections of our own stories.

This September, our Cadence & Co team and clients came together for two curated nights of Art and Conversation at Sydney Contemporary, Australasia’s largest contemporary art fair. Bringing together leading galleries from Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and beyond, the fair offered an unparalleled opportunity to experience the best in contemporary art.

Across the two evenings, clients and our wider team explored the energy of the fair, attended intimate artist talks, and gained fresh insights into contemporary practice.

Thursday’s SCAF opening night was vibrant and energetic, with highlights including Jonny Niesche speaking on his installation and an express gallery tour with Sebastian Goldspink, who also introduced us to the work of Alex Seton.

On Friday, the team joined a panel discussion on Art in Space featuring Charlotte Wilson (SJB), William Smart (Smart Design Studio), Kitty Clark (Saint Cloche), and Kerstin Thompson (KTA). The conversation explored how art influences architecture and interiors, followed by a relaxed tour of the fair’s extensive exhibitions.

We came away from Sydney Contemporary not only connected more deeply with the wider creative community we exist within, but also with fresh energy for the role of art in our work and our lives.
