Last week our annual Cadence & Co Golf Day took place at Shortees Golf in Terrey Hills, and while the temperature reached a balmy 31.5 degrees, the heat did little to slow down the competition.
Teams from across the business including Construction, Safety, Property Services, Project Operations and more swapped hard hats for golf clubs, bringing their signature spirit and plenty of good humour to the course. The rivalry was friendly but fierce.
Among the day’s memorable moments were our Contracts Administrator Leeah enjoying a chauffeured ride in the golf buggy back from the clubhouse to her team on the green and an apprentice who swinged his club with a little too much enthusiasm, shanking the ball and hitting an unsuspecting player in another team.
Our Property Services duo, Sara and Lisa, took to the greens for the first time, proving that enthusiasm can go a long way. When it came to the final leaderboard, Leeah Bevan, Micah Brown, Harrison Webb and Tom Martin claimed victory, with Leeah proudly declaring that her putt sealed the win.
After the final holes were played, the team gathered for lunch under the sun where Co-Founder Mark Campbell announced this year’s company awards.
Our winners for this year’s Construction Awards were:
Our Apprentice of the Year | Luke Marles
Carpenter of the Year | Josh Glass
Tradie of the Year | Micah Brown
It was also a day of farewells as we wished several of our team members the very best for their next chapters, including Peter MacLaren, who will be moving interstate. Over nearly ten years with Cadence & Co, Peter has contributed enormously in his roles as Apprentice, Carpenter, Leading Hand and most recently Site Manager. His commitment and craftsmanship have been greatly valued, and we wish him every success.
A huge congratulations to all of our award winners for 2025 and to the wider teams for your dedication.
