Sydney Art Quartet

Founded by Artistic Director & Cellist James Beck, Sydney Art Quartet is a virtuosic quartet that playfully sidestep routine, cliche and orthodoxy. Since 2015 the group has created and produced over 100 performances with some of this country’s most exciting creatives.

The Sydney Art Quartet has been the subject of features stories and critical reviews in The Sydney Morning Herald, Vogue Australia, The Guardian Australia, The Australian, The Daily Telegraph, Belle Magazine, Canberra Times, ABC News Breakfast, ABC TV & Limelight Magazine.

From 2015 to 2018 the group was resident ensemble at the Yellow House Kings Cross, the former creative haunt of Brett Whiteley, Peter Weir & Martin Sharpe. Artistic Director James Beck has drawn inspiration from this legacy, creating programs that have attracted an audience described as ‘the envy of the arts scene’.
