An Exclusive Perspective: Lessons with Wildcare Conservation Safari’s

A reflection on conservation, care, and Cadence’s ethos of designing with respect for both people and the environment.

Recently, our Project Operations Manager, Donella Little, had the opportunity to join Wildcare Conservation Safari’s trip to Buffalo Kloof in South Africa, an experience she describes as “raw, humbling, and life-altering.”

Unlike a commercial safari, Wildcare Conservation Safari’s offer something profoundly different. Guests experience close, authentic encounters with wildlife while witnessing the innovative ways technology and human dedication intertwine to protect these remarkable animals.

One example Donella shared was of the rhinoceros protection program. To combat poaching, rhinos are fitted with AI-enabled collars that monitor their behaviour. If signs of distress are detected, drones are deployed, and anti-poaching teams respond immediately to safeguard the animal.

What resonated deeply was the commitment of the wildlife Vets and rangers whose work goes far beyond profession; it is a purpose. Immersed in an untouched landscape, their dedication reframes how one views the world, a reminder that genuine care and thoughtful action create lasting impact.

For Donella, the experience mirrored the principles we hold at Cadence & Co, that every act of care, no matter the scale, contributes to something enduring. Just as the team of Vets in and associated with Wildcare Conservation Safari’s safeguards the integrity of their environment, we design with the same reverence, creating spaces that respect and nurture the connection between people and place.
