The existing house was very internalized, with dark spaces and a poor connection to the rear landscaping. The brief was to create a light filled family home, with living spaces that spilled out to the garden.
The existing masonry was paired with weatherboard cladding, and the whole house painted white. The upper floor bedroom addition enabled the existing floor plan to be opened up to create large, sun filled living spaces.
The broad bi-fold doors enable full connection between the indoor and outdoor living spaces, with a kitchen that extends out to an open fire and generous BBQ area.
The new pool and landscaping give the families two young children ample playing space, as well as a home for the chickens, who occupy a mini Hamptons style coup of their own!
